Rajesh's film sans drinking and tasmac song!
For the first time in his career, VSOP director has steered away from drinking scenes.
Filmmaker Rajesh, who has churned out several hits with the biggies, is known for showing drinking scenes and an obligatory Tasmac (club) song in every film he has directed. For the first time, he has steered clear of such scenes in his upcoming flick Kadavul Irukkan Kumararu, which has GV Prakash, Nikki Galrani, and Anandhi in the lead. He claims that KIK is a clean film devoid of clichés.
“I don’t deliberately include drinking scenes in every film of mine.
The KIK script did not demand such scenes, and hence you can’t find even a single shot of the hero getting doused in liquor,” Rajesh tells us.
On the genre, he says, “It’s a road film, and the youth can relate to its theme and situations. This film starts in Chennai and travels to Goa and Pondicherry. GV Prakash suggested the title Kadavul Irukkan Kumaru after I narrated the script to him. It is an adage used when one escapes from a serious predicament.”
About the challenges involved with shooting on the road, he states, “We had to plan meticulously in advance because it is imperative that we should not disturb the public and other vehicles on the road. We could not carry much equipment like we do in normal shooting spots, so we used helicams and some advanced technology to capture most of scenes on the road.” The SMS director reveals that there’s a ghost episode in KIK where Naan Kadavul Rajendhran has simply rocked. Prakash Raj, Robo Shankar, Singam Puli, RJ Balaji form the supporting cast.
