We realised we were in love: Dona Shankar
The latest Mollywood import to join that list is Deepak Narayanan, who's all set to make his debut with the horror film Pei Ellaam Paavam.
Just as Malayalam actresses are a preferred lot in Tamil cinema, M-town filmmakers like Fazil, Siddique and Shaji Kailash are also making their mark in K-town. The latest Mollywood import to join that list is Deepak Narayanan, who’s all set to make his debut with the horror film Pei Ellaam Paavam.
The film features Arasu playing the male lead, national award winner Appu Kutty in a crucial role, and Dona Shankar, with whom Deepak tied the knot recently. The filmmaker claims that PEP steers clear of all the usual clichés associated with horror movies.
Speaking at the audio launch, Dona said, “I have known Deepak since the time he was working as an assistant director. When he decided to go independent, he cast me as his lead heroine. While working together, we got to know of each other, and at one point, we realised we were in love. We got married with the consent of both families.”
She also revealed how the director had cried with joy while watching the film’s teaser and trailer, adding, “I am confident of the film’s success.”
Directors Perarasu, Venkatesh, and Jaguar Thangam were among those spotted at the event.
