Multi-talented actor STR, who has been in the industry for more than 30 years, knows the nuances of filmmaking from scratch. He has donned several hats for his previous ventures — that of a director, lyricist and an actor. Now, he will be marking his debut as a music composer in the Santhanam and Vaibhavi Shandilya-starrer Sakka Podu Podu Raja, produced by VTV Ganesh.
In the past, the actor had also roped in his father T Rajhendherr to croon for his films. Now, for his debut album, he has roped in his mother Usha Rajhendherr to render a number! Confirming the news to DC, VTV Ganesh says, “It was nice of Simbu to make his mother and father sing the ‘mass’ song, Va Munimma Va. Apart from his parents, his close friends Leon James, Anirudh Ravichander and Yuvan Shankar Raja (Kadhal Devathai which has lyrics penned by Vairamuthu) have also rendered a song each.”
STR is also introducing two new singers through Sakka Podu Podu Raja. “17-year-old Vasudev Krishnan, son of popular playback singer, Unni Krishnan, and Keerthana, a singer trained in classical music, are part of the album as well. STR has completed all the five songs in Sakka Podu Podu Raja,” he adds.
The team has wrapped up the talkie portions and the song shoot will commence on March 15. They will shot in Ooty, Bengaluru, Chennai and the US.
