Vikram’s next film, directed by Vijay Chander, has been titled Sketch. The film has Tamannaah teaming up with Vikram for the first time. The actress unveiled the first look poster of the film via her Twitter account. Though the title is an English word, the team maintains that it is a colloquial term used in Tamil when thugs make secret plans to kill or attack someone.
The title has significance to the script, they add. It is unclear if it will undergo a name change later to avail the tax exemption or if the makers will convince the authorities and retain the title.
National awards are biased: ARM
The Union Information & Broadcasting Ministry announced the 64th National Film Awards for Indian films released in 2016 on Friday. Few felt that the selection committee headed by veteran filmmaker and producer Priyadarshan, has been prejudiced in the selection process for some categories.
Noted filmmaker/producer AR Murugadoss’ bold remarks, which he posted on his Twitter account echoed the same and raised many eyebrows. He tweeted: “#National Awards — Can clearly witness the influence & partiality of people in jury, it’s biased.” (sic)
