Suriya unveils documentary on Krishnan-Panchu

A documentary titled The Pioneering Duo, on Krishnan-Panchu, the famous writer-director-producer-editor pair of Indian cinema, was recently launched by actor Suriya and his dad Sivakumar. It was in Krishnan - Panchu’s directorial venture thespian Sivaji Ganesan was introduced.  Four-time recipients of national awards, they worked together in 56 movies in different languages with the likes of MGR, SSR, Bhanumathy, Sharada, MR Radha, Nagesh, Sivakumar etc. G.  Dhananjayan, who bagged the Best Critic Award at the National Film Awards has directed the documentary.

Speaking at the event, Suriya said, “I have been to several countries and visited  places where cinema is being produced. After watching the body of work of Krishnan– Panchu through this documentary, I ask myself ‘what have I achieved so far?’”.

A host of veterans from K’town, including Bhagyaraj, Vikraman, Sasi, P.Vasu, M.N.Rajam among others who attended the event, heaped praises on the ace duo and recalled their memories.
