I had the liberty to experiment in Yaarivan: Tatineni Satya
...says Tatineni Satya about his forthcoming film with Sachiin Joshi and Esha Gupta.
When the teaser of Yaarivan released a few weeks ago, it quickly turned a lot of heads for its style quotient — and now, a one-minute song teaser of the film has been released as the film is inching towards its release date, June 8. The director of the film, T Satya, who is known for his Telugu films Bheemili Kabbadi Jattu and Shiva Manasulo Shruti, says that he wanted the film to have a fashionable appeal and he had the liberty to go ahead because of producer Raina Joshi. “I wanted the film to look glamorous, and when you have a producer who’s got your back, it is easy to experiment. We have taken keen measures in terms of costumes and sets,” he asserts. Starring new faces Sachiin Joshi and Esha Gupta (new to K’town) in the lead roles, the film is a mystery thriller about a kabaddi player, who is accused of murdering his girlfriend.
“Kishore sir is the most important character in the story. He plays a cop, and he will be the one to unveil the suspense in the end. He has done an amazing job in the film,” lauds Satya.
When asked about the decision to go with new faces, he says, “The script was solid. The producers and Sachiin had complete trust in it, so we were pretty sure about the film.”
He adds, “Yaarivan has a complex screenplay. It is a non-linear script, shifting back and forth from the flashback to the present state. The story narration would be unlike other typical mystery films.
The success of films like Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru is an encouragement to try things differently.” The film also stars Prabhu (as the heroine’s father) and veteran Delhi Ganesh in an important role. SS Thaman has composed the songs for the film.
