Thangaradham is a film which revolves around two load men who work in a vegetable mandi at the famous Ottanchathiram Market, one of the biggest market places in TN. Directed by Balamurugan, the film has Vetri, who has worked in more than 300 ad commercials, as protagonist, and Aditi Krishna, who was recently seen in the film Tubelight as the female lead. Soundararajan will essay Aditi’s brother and a friend of Vetri’s.

“It is a love story woven with the backdrop of a famous marketplace. I have recounted my experiences at the busy and congested place where I grew up, as my dad owns a big shop there. No film has been shot in this this market so far,” director Balamurugan says.

He reveals, “I have not taken any cinematic liberties and narrated the story in a realistic manner. Hence, many banners including Shankar’s S Pictures were ready to back the project. But due to few undisclosed reasons, he could not produce it,”

Director-actor Bhagyaraj, who watched the movie, said that the filmmaker has handled a unique subject — unlike the typical good versus bad stories, in this film good is pitted against good! “Thangaradham will go with all types of audiences,” the director asserts.
