Speculations are rife that the Atharvaa-Anupama Parameswaran untitled film in Kannan’s direction is a remake of Telugu hit film Ninnu Kori, which featured Nani, Nivetha Thomas and Aadhi in the lead. Reportedly, while Atharvaa plays a PhD scholar, Anupama will be seen as a classical dancer, and their characterisations were almost similar to the lead pair in NK, which led to the buzz.

However, when  DC contacted Kannan, he did admit that it was indeed an official remake of Ninnu Kori. “We bought the remake rights and I am making few changes here to give the local flavour .” Ask him who plays the pivotal role that Aadhi did, he says, “We are talking to couple of actors and will finalise in a day or two.”

Kannan who bankrolls the film plans to shoot a crucial segment in a locale abroad as in the original. “We have two options. Either we shoot in Texas or in Australia. We are working on the logistics.” Shanmuga Sundaram of 96 fame cranks the camera.
