Auctioning actors’ memorabilia is not a new thing in K’town, though it is only done sporadically. It started as early as Baba, when the turban and other accessories used by Superstar in the film were sold for a price at the ‘Rajini 25 festival’. Also, clothes and other outfits of Rajini’s comeback vehicle Chandramukhi were officially auctioned through an online portal.

Later, the horse used by Suriya in 7 Aam Arivu was sold for a big price at the Erode Market, and recently Jacqueline Fernandez auctioned her costly outfits online to raise money for a cause.

The latest is that Rajinikanth’s stylish suit pieces and blazers from the gangster film Kabali are up for grabs. These suits were custom-made for the aging gangster character Kabali, essayed by Thalaivar. The film had costume designed by Anu Vardhan and Heeba Sait. The filmmakers are now planning to auction them through an online platform.
