Pragathi Guruprasad is Bala's next heroine
She is all set to enter the silver screen in a movie.
Look who’s the new leading lady in K’town! Pragathi Guruprasad, who wooed us with her singing talent in a reality show, is all set to enter the silver screen in a movie, which will be directed by acclaimed filmmaker Bala. It should be a dream-come-true for the youngster — who’d revealed in an earlier interview with DC that she was supposed to act in the director’s previous project Thara Thappatai, but it couldn’t materialise due to her exams. As a playback singer, she has also rendered songs in Tamil, for the likes of Anirudh Ravichander, G.V. Prakash, and Santhosh Narayanan.
It should also be noted that the Tamil film industry, after a long gap, will be seeing a heroine, who is a trained classical singer. Yuvan of Sattai fame has been roped in to play the male lead. As per our sources, the movie will be set on the backdrop of a Brahmin community. We also hear that though Bala was keen to go ahead with his earlier project Kutra Parambarai (for which he locked horns with Bharathiraja) — he has put it on hold, and greenlit this film instead for now. Pragathi, who is currently in the US, could not be reached.
