Actor Dhanush in paternity suit
Court conducts case in-camera, next hearing March 20.
Madurai: The Madurai bench of the Madras High Court adjourned the hearing of actor Dhanush case to March 20 after the judge conducted in-camera proceeding of the case for nearly two hours inside his chamber. Taking note of the sensitive nature of the case, Justice PN Prakash on Thursday decided to hear the case inside his chamber and record the arguments in the camera. The case relates to a Melur couple seeking to order DNA mapping for actor Dhanush and themselves to ascertain paternity.
The opposing counsels agreed to the in-camera hearing and presented their arguments before the judge inside the chamber from 6 pm. After the counsels left the judge's chamber around 8 pm, they refused to reveal the details of the arguments to the media.
It is worth recalling that after the court subjected actor Dhanush to medical examination for personal verification of his birthmark to ascertain his parentage, the Melur couple, R.Kathiresan and Meenaksh, filed fresh petition during the last hearing seeking DNA mapping claiming that the actor had submitted a fake transfer certificate in the court.
