Pradheep denies remaking U Turn in Tamil
While debates are on about who among Sam or Nayan will be cast in the remake of U Turn, the director of the project is still unkown.
It was earlier reported that Samantha Akkineni evinced interest to act in the remake of Kannada super-hit crime thriller U Turn directed by Pawan Kumar of Lucia fame and she bought the remake rights of the film even before it’s release.
The latest buzz is that Sam may not be part of it — instead Nayanthara might be roped in to essay the lead role of an investigative journalist played by Shraddha Srinath in the original, for which the latter got critical acclaim.
According to tinsel town sources, Pradheep Krishnamoorthy of Saithaan and the recent Sathya fame will be wielding the megaphone. Considering the fact that Nayan’s market has soared post her portrayal of a collector in the recent film Aramm, she is said to be the first choice for the remake of U Turn, which has more prominence to the lead lady. And the source even added that the entire film is set in Malaysia.
However, the big twist in the story is that Pradheep, who is basking in the success of Sathya, tells DC that there’s no such development. “Long back, someone initiated the talks for U Turn’s remake in Tamil. But, I was not keen to do a remake again as I was working on Sathya, then which is also a remake of Telugu film Kshanam. And hence, it stopped then and there.” At present, Pradheep is working on his next script, which is an original one.
