Director SS Rajamouli has big plans after the release of Baahubali: The Conclusion. He had previously mentioned that his dream projects were Garuda and Mahabharata.

At a private event in Chennai recently, he said that his next project will be on the Mahabharata. Though he didn’t divulge any further details about this venture, he said that he would work on it once he completes Baahubali. Last year, the director had expressed his interest in making Mahabharata into at least a four part series!

Interestingly, he took three years to complete Baahubali as it needed different kinds of sets and visuals. Even with the aid of computer graphics, it may take a minimum of ten years for the four-part film on Mahabharata to take shape. “He is planning to make the film on par with Hollywood standards, as it is his dream project and a subject that many people around the world know. Mahabharata will be his life’s achievement and he may start once everything is finalised,” says a source.
