Still from Kadalai

Sensing instability on the silver screen, the popular anchor-turned-actor Ma Ka Pa Anand continues as a host on a TV talk show. It looks like he does not want to give it up while continuing to sign films that come his way. Apparently, his film Kadalai has been in the making for a long time, and has even changed its title from Deepavali Thuppakki to Kadalai. The makers had trouble with this title, as another production house has registered the same titled.

Aishwarya Rajesh who is on a career high now portrays Ma Ka Pa’s love interest. Talking about the film, its director Sahaya Suresh says, “Kadalai is a term used by youth of today to denote flirting with girls. The film has proper mix of comedy, sentiment, romance, and good music to go well with all types of audiences. There’s a message for the younger generation.”

Ponvannan, Yogi Babu, and John Vijay appear in supporting roles. CS Sam, who scored for Vijay Sethupathi’s Mellisai, composes the tracks for  this movie.
