The film revolves around a Kattil (cot), which has seen three generations and the emotional bond shred by the lead pair Ganesh and Srushti towards it.
“I took a deliberate sabbatical and wanted to return with a bang and Kattil happened. Dhanalaxmi is mature and intense character.
Yet, she is subtle. It is a total transformation in terms of looks and characterisation from the films I have done so far.”
Ask her if she has no apprehension acting as the mother of two kids and she replies, “No! Never. It was heart-warming to work in a role, which is beyond your expectations. It is something new for me and will be remembered by people for a long time. When we did the look shoot, even the real mothers of the kids who were present on the studios were appreciating me as I looked my part.”Srushti says that she is taking rehearsals and classes to speak the Madurai dialect as she is keen to dub for herself.
