It’s pouring praise for Radikaa
Actress Radikaa Sarathkumar is all set to make her debut as TV host with the Tamil version of popular game show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ .
A popular TV channel announced the upcoming Tamil version of the game show Who Wants To Be A Millionaire as an all-woman edition. Titled Kodeeswari, the show will be hosted by the iconic superstar of Tamil Cinema, Radikaa Sarathkumar. In a first ever, the show will see only women on the Hot Seat.
When DC contacted Radikaa, she said “Kodeeswari for women is a chance for the participants to empower themselves, irrespective of the amount they win. It gives them a lot of confidence and happiness. A woman, more than thinking about herself she always thinks about her loved ones. This is a platform to establish that.”
Long-time host of Hindi KBC, actor Amitabh Bachchan congratulated the Indian actor on becoming the first woman to host the show among its many versions across the globe. In a video, Amitabh Bachchan said that after having the privilege to be working with Radhika as a co-star in films, there are several reasons that she must be congratulated now.
“Radikaa is going to be the first woman host of KBC, not just in our country, but also the first time ever in the history of the show nationally and internationally the contestants of KBC are all going to be women. This is not only unique but also very encouraging, reassuring and motivating,” he added.
Amitabh Bachchan is the pioneer for every other host who handled the KBC show in different languages. “It was very surprising when Amit Ji sent me a personal note. I’m one of his greatest fans; I have stood in long queues to buy tickets for his films. Most of the times it would be a ‘House full’ board,” laughed Radikaa.
Radikaa has worked as a co-actor with Amitabh Bachchan in films like Laal Badshah and Aaj Ka Arjun. “The love I had for Amit Ji, grew ten folds when I started working with him for the person he is. I have always maintained that he has been my inspiration at all times. It was really wonderful to be appreciated by him,” she explained.
Radikaa’s spouse R Sarathkumar also wished her success saying that it is indeed one more feather in her cap for becoming the first woman to host the prestigious KBC both nationally and internationally exclusively for women.
Overwhelmed by her family’s support, Radikaa said, “Sarath is very proud of me, he encourages me all the time, he is very thrilled so are my kids. My mother always says your destiny has got more for you. As a mother, sometimes I feel guilty when I leave to work, but my kids have always been kind and sweet to me. They appreciate whatever I do, that is when I feel worth it for the works I have done so far.”
Following the wishes from Amitabh Bachchan and her hubby, many other celebrities including Yugi Sethu, Nadia, Simran, Meena, Gautham Menon and fans are flooding Radhika Sarathkumar with their wishes over hosting the game show Kodeeswari. The show will be aired on TV from December 2019.
