Nayan is the hero in Sarkunam's film: Harish Uthaman
Nayanthara has been roped in to play a police officer in a yet-to-be-titled film.
Harish Uthaman, who rose to fame with films like Pandiya Naadu, and the recent Jayam Ravi-starrer Thani Oruvan, has been roped in to play a police officer in a yet-to-be-titled film. It is to be produced by Sarkunam and has Nayanthara in the lead role. Ask him about playing a police officer again and Harish says, “Both the roles are different, because in Thani Oruvan I was one among those IPS officers. I didn’t have much scope to essay an ideal police officer. But this one is a substantial, tougher role where the charatcer is refined. My part is very important from the story’s perspective.”
The actor couldn’t stop talking about Nayanthara. “She’s quite supportive and makes everyone feel comfortable on the sets. We have already worked together in Thani Oruvan but I would say in this film, she is the hero. She’s one of those rare heroines who doesn’t go back to the caravan when her scene is over — she sits by the monitor and observes, and thinks about how things can be improved. Nayan is also open to suggestions,” he smiles.
“It’s not a horror flick like many reports suggest but a fantasy crime thriller. Doss Ramasamy, associate of director Sarkunam, is helming the project. Thambi Ramaiah also has an important role in it,” he tells DC.
What’s next? “I am awaiting the release of the Nani-starrer Eega in Telugu, in which I play the villain,” he says, and adds that in Tamil, he will be seen in an important role in the Vijay Sethupathi-Lakshmi Menon starrer Rekka.
Quite content with what has come hisway, Harish says he's quite conscious while choosing a script. “I believe the script does the magic and not the character,” he grins. Speaking of other interests, Harish says he has been into basketball for the past 17 years. “I am also into Parkour of late. Also, gymming has always been there. Otherwise my day is not complete,” he signs off.
