Every year, Thalaivar’s fans go out of their way to celebrate the greatness of superstar Rajinikanth. But, this year, it will be a low-key affair as the actor has requested his fans not to celebrate his birthday because of the tragedy that struck Tamil Nadu.

Popular lyricist Madhan Karky and his team including budding music director Sekar Sai Bharath and playback singer Diwakar have come up with a tribute song for our Superstar. Speaking to DC, Madhan Karky asserts, “For the special song, Bharath approached me with an idea of composing a song similar to the 90s style. It was a great pitch and I decided to pen lyrics for a first-time composer. Super Singer fame Diwakar lent his voice to it.

The song will be a gaana number, which is about celebrating the ‘Rajini’ in each one of us. The song is inspired by the music style of composer Deva. Sai and Diwakar spent a lot of time to perfect the song and it has come out very well.”

Opening up about his  personal encounter with Rajinikanth, the Iru Mugan lyricist quips, “I am a huge fan of him since my childhood. When I was a kid I remember meeting him at producer AVM Saravanan sir’s house. I used to sing his songs and belt out punch-lines from his films. I even gave an impromptu performance on one of his songs from Manithan at Meenakshi College in Chennai. When I started my career in the industry as a dialogue writer, he was the first person to mouth my lines. He’s been an integral part of my life.” Produced by Doopaadoo, the song will be aired on several TV channels and radio channels.
