Actress Trisha visited Amma’s memorial on Sunday morning to pay her last respects to late CM J. Jayalalithaa. She was accompanied by her mother. Trisha tells us, “I was upset that I could not make it for the funeral, despite me going thrice to the place. Since there was a huge crowd, I could not manage to go near her and see her face one last time. The next day I was in Kerala and came back just to pay my respects to madam today.”
She adds, “Amma’s death is an inconsolable loss, not only for politics but also to millions of women including me for whom she was an inspiration and a role model. When I came back to Chennai from Kerala, I felt like the city had lost something and there’s a big void. It will take a long time for all of us to get over this.”
