Vijay Sethupathi mocked for iron man voice
Says it’s more suited for a ‘porukki’.
After terminating or banning membership of all those who raised their voice against its head Radha Ravi, the South Indian Cine, Television Artistes and Dubbing Artistes Union, known as the Dubbing Union, has now dragged Vijay Sethupathi into controversy. The union’s secretary Kathiravan Balu has made derogatory remarks on the biggie.
Balu posted Tamil tweets humiliating Disney India as well as VSP for the actor being roped in to give voice for the Iron Man in Avengers: Endgame. His tweet roughly translates as — “Disney does not have brains. They had hired Vijay Sethupathi for giving voice to Tony Stark aka Iron Man in the Tamil version of Avengers: Endgame. Vijay Sethupathi’s voice is only suitable for a teashop roadside porukki. Can you think of him giving voice for a billionaire? It is distasteful!”
Another post says, “Worst mistake on Disney to get SRK for Mufasa.” What is intriguing is some voice artistes like Shakthi Rudi of Nagini fame have also supported Balu’s views. People have also been discussing the topic in Twitter thread. While a follower says that “Big players don’t pick up as per their requirement. They want some big names and they don’t mind spending for them. That’s all!’, yet another peeved one says “This has become an irritating trend.”
Many say that nothing moves and no one in the in Dubbing Union utters a word in any public forum without the knowledge of its president and veteran actor Radha Ravi.
Kathiravan Balu had soon deleted all the tweets from his account but some users have captured the screenshot of the distasteful attack on a popular actor.
