Is John Vijay Hollywood bound?
Today, he is transcending borders and signing films in other languages; his kitty is full with 20 films!
John Vijay is one actor who never ceases to surprise us, with unique roles in each and every film. His debut Oram Po, where he played the weird role of ‘Son of Gun’ was critically-acclaimed and there has been no looking back. Today, he is transcending borders and signing films in other languages; his kitty is full with 20 films!
“Oram Po was accidental. The actor who was supposed to do that role did not turn up for the shoot. So, Pushkar and Gayathri asked me to give it a try,” he starts.
Post Kabali, the actor says his life has changed. “Since I played the role of Rajini sir’s friend in the film, I have also become the friend of people of Tamil Nadu and Superstar’s fans all over the world! The opportunity to share screen-space with him was God’s gift. The first scene itself was to go, hug and kiss Rajini sir! How many people get such a chance?” he shrugs.
After David and Dedh Isquiya, John has now got an offer to work in a Bollywood movie alongside Irfan Khan — “Talks are on and I am working out the dates.”
After Bachelors Party, the Malayalam industry too beckoned him. “I have done seven movies and am presently acting in Ji Ju Mathew with Dulquer Salman. For the first time, I am playing a good guy in a Malayalam film!”
He also reprises his powerful police officer role from Mouna Guru in its Telugu remake Shankara. “People who have seen it are raving about the film. I am looking forward to its release.”
The actor is now Hollywood bound. “Yes, I have been called to give auditions for a Hollywood television series and a few films in January next year,” signs off John.
