I never had any crush in my school days: Srikanth
He had to get a clean shave in order to look younger in Sowcarpettai.
Shrikanth’s ‘aghori’ avatar in his upcoming horror genre Sowcarpettai has become the talk of the town! The movie, directed by Vadivudayan, has Raai Laxmi playing his love interest. Apart from his scary avatar, there’s also a flashback, which was tough to pull off, Srikanth tells DC. “Yes, our childhood will be recalled in the flashback episodes. It is about how Raai Laxmi and I who were classmates in school, bond over various things. When my director told me about this segment, I asked him ‘school or college boy’, to which he said ‘schoolboy’. I was wondering as to how would I do it. Though I enjoyed shooting those scenes, I had to push myself quite a bit,” he smiles.
On preparing for his role, the actor says, “I had to get a clean shave in order to look younger — it was a huge challenge to lose few kilos. What kept me going was the fact that I actually got to relive my school days except the innocent love, which is a part of the film; but something I didn’t experience in real life,” he says and quickly adds, “I never had a crush on anyone in my school — I was a very mischievous kid.” Heaping praises on his co-star Laxmi he says, “She has done few daredevil stunts, which other heroines in the industry would have decline. Flying using ropes, jumping from heights, landing on trees and falling on stones without a body double — the list is endless.”
