Haripriya's new glam avatar

Haripriya, who was missing in action from the Tamil film industry, is back taking a glam route now. She is returning with a thriller titled Silandhi 2. However, this project is not a sequel to the previous hit movie Silandhi, the first movie in the south to be fully shot in digital format, almost a decade ago. We talk to director Aadhirajan to know more about the film.

 Speaking to us, Aadhi says, “The movie is about how girls who earn a lot of money misuse their freedom in the name of modernity. The resulting repercussions form the crux. I am introducing Raghavendhra, belonging to the legendary Kannada star Rajkumar’s family, as the lead hero in Tamil. Silandhi 2 is a bilingual in Tamil and Kannada.”

 Going with the promo stills, it looks like Haripriya has undergone a complete makeover. “We shot a song at a Goa beach and it needed some kind of hotness quotient. Initially, Haripriya was hesitant to wear skimpy clothes. I convinced her that we would shoot it aesthetically and finally she did it,” Aadhi discloses.

 Earlier the film was titled Atharvanam. Quiz the director on if changing the title to Silandhi 2 has a recall value, and he says —  “Many said Atharvanam was a little tough to pronounce, and people could not understand the meaning! So, I decided to go with the name Silandhi 2, as this film also falls under the whodunnit mystery genre like the first part.”
