Shruti Haasan shakes a leg with Jamal
Jamal Sims, who's known to be one of the best hiphop and street dancers, was brought on board to choreograph Shruti's dance sequences in the film.
Like her dad Kamal Haasan, whose dancing prowess is admired, the gorgeous Shruti is equally a powerhouse talent when it comes to dancing. The bubbly actress who reprises her real-life role in the upcoming trilingual Sabaash Naidu with her father, is presently in Los Angeles for the shoot. Shruti will be dancing to the steps of none other than the Step Up series choreographer Jamal Terry-Sims, for a special number. Sources say that the song is based on Shruti’s character and is touted to be one of the best numbers in the Vedhalam star’s career.
A close source to the actress reveals, “Shruti is very excited about working in this film — especially since she is one of her dad’s biggest admirers. To share screen space with this celebrated cinematic icon is definitely a dream come true for her!”
She essays Kamal’s character’s daughter in the film, and dons an extremely smart and stylish avatar. For her dance sequences, Jamal Sims — who’s known to be one of the best dancers and choreographers in the hiphop and street dance forms, was brought on board.
Shruti apparently rehearsed with Jamal and his team with a lot of fervor, despite being a terrific dancer herself, to ensure she got every movement perfectly, the source adds. The single track might also be used as the promo song of the film, a source on the unit discloses. On his part, Jamal Sims remarked that Shruti was very beautiful not only in her appearance, but also at heart.
