Other Tamil films that the actress has done so far include Vettrivel and the upcoming Vijay Sethupathi, Trisha-starrer 96.
Varsha Bollamma, a popular face in Malayalam cinema, has been elevated to the position of lead actress in K-town with the movie Seemathurai. Other Tamil films that the actress has done so far include Vettrivel and the upcoming Vijay Sethupathi, Trisha-starrer 96.
Seemathurai has been directed by Santhosh Thyagarajan, a well-known name in the short film circuit. It features Geethan, who so far has appeared only in insignificant roles in movies such as Kathai Kelu. He will be playing the protagonist. The film also has Viji Chandrashekar, Kayal Vincent and Mahendran in the supporting cast.
Talking about the film, Santhosh says, “It is about a ruffian and how his life turns upside down as the result of a certain incident. The film is based in a village in Thanjavur and it reflects the simple lifestyle of rural-dwellers. I have attempted live narration without taking too many cinematic liberties.”
Varsha, who plays a rural belle in the film, says, “The script required a dialect used in south Tamil Nadu. I took me a few days of training to get my diction and lip-syncing perfect. It was an enriching experience working with the entire team.” Meanwhile, the actress is also working on three Malayalam films.
