With the advent of technology, many cherished cultural tools have become a thing of the past. One among them is Paatu Pusthagam — the book of lyrics, which every kid loved to have in his hand in the ’90s. Jayam Ravi’s Comali brings back the old world charm of the ‘Song Book’.

The film revolves around the protagonist waking up from coma after 20 years and finding himself isolated due to vast difference in time. “We wanted to regenerate some of the best things of that phase and bringing in the ‘Lyric Book’ is our first step. Earlier during the film’s audio release, the ‘Song Book’ would immediately find a huge demand and they would be sold in almost all public places. There have been times when people would informally go for advance booking from vendors for these lyric books. We will be placing Comali song books at multiplexes near the film’s standees. The audiences coming to theatres can pick a copy of it,” says the film maker.

While Kajal essays Ravi’s love interest in the film directed by Pradeep Ranganathan, Hiphop Aadhi composes the music.
