Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan completes 60 years in Indian cinema.  Sixty years ago, on August 12, 1959, the actor had marked his entry into the industry. He entered tinsel town as a child artiste in Kalathur Kannamma bankrolled
by famous AVM Productions.

Fans and celebrities from all over the world have been sending in their wishes to the Vishwaroopam star, their messages trending with the hashtag #Kamalism. The actor turned politician’s daughter and actress Shruti Haasan penned an emotional note to her dad and shared the poster of one of her favourite movies - Mahanadhi - on her social media page.

Shruti wrote on her Instagram page, “Dear Bapuji, 60 years in the world of acting, you make us proud and inspire so many of us to look to the stories you have shared with us for inspiration and hope. I decided to share the poster of one of my favourite movies of yours. Brave, beautiful and emotionally challenging. You have dedicated your time and energy to the arts in a way that is nothing short of magnificent !! Always so proud and here’s to sixty more!!”

On the work front, while Kamal is busy with Indian 2 and Thalaivan Irukkindraan he is also hosting the BB3 show. Shruti has bagged an international series Treadstone, and Tamil film Laabam.
