After her blockbuster Telugu film Rangasthalam, Samantha Akkineni will once again be sporting a rural belle role in Sivakarthikeyan’s film Seema Raja.

Directed by Ponram, a lucky mascot for Siva, this is the first time Siva and Sam are being paired with each other.

Speaking to DC about her role, Sam quips. “I am playing a typical village girl attired in ‘paavadai dhaavani’ and it’s a fun filled entertainer and full-fledged commercial Siva-Ponram kind of films. I learnt Silambam (a martial art form practised in TN) for this film and I have swirled the stick for some of the action sequences.” The movie is shot extensively in Thenkasi and Kerala.

“I wanted to see Courtallam Aruvi (waterfalls), but when we went there for a shoot, sadly it was not the season and there was not much of water,” she reveals.
