Album to expose atrocities in asylums
The album also features Tamil songs sung by the Eezham Boys band from Paris.
Tamizh Aapthan, whose first album, ‘Thupparivu’, based on the Swacch Bharat concept brought him into the limelight, is gearing up for the release of yet another hip-hop album titled Seigai Oru Paadamagattum (SOP). This one touches upon the sensitive subject of how the inmates of mental asylums are treated.
“I’ve done extensive research on the subject. People with mental illnesses can be cured if they seek treatment at mental hospitals. But if they are taken to asylums, they are subjected to torture and used as guinea pigs for research.
They are given hydrotherapy and mechanical slaps, and they’re even used to test fairness creams, body sprays and other cosmetics. The main aim of the album is to reveal these truths to the world,” says Tamizh Aapthan. The album also features Tamil songs sung by the Eezham Boys band from Paris.
