STR's Sarasudu gets tax exemption
Directed by Pandaraj, the film which was made as a bilingual in Tamil and Telugu is having its Telugu release today.
Maverick filmmaker T.Rajhendar is back with Sarasudu, the Telugu version of his son STR’s Idhu Namma Aalu. The film which stars STR and Nayanthara had a decent run in Tamil Nadu. Directed by Pandaraj, the film which was made as a bilingual in Tamil and Telugu is having its Telugu release today. And it is TR who is releasing it in Andhra Pradhesh.
“Soori’s portions will appear for 40 minutes in the film. Instead of Soori, we have comedian Sathyam Rajesh in the Telugu version. I have penned the lyrics of the song — Munna Manmadha Ninna Vallabha. The song composed by Kuralarasan has all the film titles of STR. Besides Andhra and Telangana, Sarasudu is getting released in Karnataka as well,” TR reveals to DC.
He quickly adds, “Telugu states had given an exemption for Sarasudu from GST.”
When queried about STR being roped in by Mani Ratnam for his next, TR said, “Mani’s elder brother GV and I were good friends, and Mani is also my friend.
STR told me that Mani Ratnam had asked to meet him on Guru Peyarchi (September 2). I replied back saying, ‘He has introduced AR Rahman to Tamil cinema and made films with Rajini and Kamal and hence he is also a guru to you, so go and meet him.’ After that, I was not updated.”
