Ragu Aditya came into the limelight with his menacing villainy act, playing a sexual offender in Devaraattam.  To pursue his passion for acting in Tamil cinema, Ragu quit his lucrative IT job in Japan and returned to the city. “I took my acting course at Balu Mahendra School of Acting. I also got trained in other aspects like stunts and dance. I started as a friend of Vishal sir in his film Poojai,” is how Ragu opens up.

Calling national award winner Seenu Ramasamy as his mentor, Ragu says, “Seenu sir gave me the first major break with Dharmaduari, where I played Vijay Sethupathi’s younger brother and it was a noticeable role.”

It was his six-pack look in Sivakarthikeyan’s Seemaraja, which fetched him as the bad boy character in Gautham Karthik’s  Devaraattam. “There’s a king portion in Seemaraja for which I sported a six-pack body.  Impressed with my looks, director Muthaiah offered me the meaty role in Devaraattam. It was so impactful that audiences were shying away from me after the show got over when I was watching the film along with public.”

The actor has been roped in as one of the leads in Ezhil Durai's upcoming flick. Ragu along with his brother is also into production and soon their banner Chandra Arts  will be bankrolling a film with Vijay Sethupathi playing the lead. “I am also portraying a key character in it,” he signs off.
