Samuthirakani is a farmer now

Samuthirakani plays a farmer in Subramaniya Siva’s next which is titled Vellai Yaanai, which tells the story of Thanjavur farmers and their predicament. Siva, who returns to direction after eight years, says, “It is an agriculture based script and talks about the issues faced by farmers. I needed an imposing personality like Kani to portray a farmer as it would be convincing when issue is discussed. However, there is no preaching, but narrated in satirical comedy way. I have handled it with lot of sensitivity”.

Malayalam actress Athmiya, who debuted in K’town, as Sivakarthikeyan’s pair in Manamkothi Paravai will be seen playing female lead. Yogi Babu, SS Stanley, Ramadoss, Bava Chellathurai, Saranya Ravichandran are in the supporting cast.
