Raghava Lawrence who tasted huge success with his horror-comedy genre films, is at it again. The choreographer/filmmaker is all set to entertain us with yet another horror movie Shivalinga, which started its shoot recently. Popular filmmaker P. Vasu directs the film, which has Ritika Singh of Irudhi Suttru fame playing the female lead in a crucial role. It is a remake of Vasu’s earlier Kannada blockbuster with the same name, which starred Shivaraj Kumar and Vedhika. The movie also features Vasu’s son Shakthi and he is reprising his original role in this.
Speaking to DC, Shakthi said, “My dad, P. Vasu has changed the script to suit the Tamil audience. I had to underplay my character in Kannada as I starred opposite Shivaraj — a Superstar in Kannada. In Tamil, the script is revised so that all of us have equal importance.”
The flick has an ensemble cast of Radha Ravi, Urvashi, Bhanupriya and Vadivelu who returns after a long hiatus to a comedy role. Except for the comedian, all others were present at the formal pooja of the film. Thaman scores the music. In an earlier interview to this newspaper, Vasu had said that he wanted a highly performing actress rather than a star and hence he chose Ritika for the role. The movie is about a sleuth who is entrusted with the job of investigating a mysterious murder case, and the problems he faces there upon in his personal life.
