A real-life story with a twist
Dinesh also hopes that the subject will appeal to a wide section of audience.
Many films based on real-life people and incidents have hit the screens in Tamil cinema, but for the first time, the film has been enacted by the person himself! Krishnam is a trilingual made in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu. Dinesh Babu, who has made 45-odd films, (mostly in Kannada) is helming the affairs.
Talking to DC, Dinesh says, “The film is about a teenager and a rare medical condition he contracts. It is played by Akshay Krishnan, who overcame the condition miraculously. When I came to know his story, I realised it could be woven into a film and would be relatable to the audience. The film will have concepts of both medical science and spirituality.”
Akshay hadn’t undergone any training in acting, yet managed to emote perfectly, Dinesh Babu says, adding, “He played the role perfectly, as he went through everything in his own life. Aishwarya, another debutante plays the female lead. In most of my films, I handle the cinematography, and I have done the same for Krishnam as well. “
Dinesh also hopes that the subject will appeal to a wide section of audience. “It’s a family-oriented story and hence, will be something all types of audience can relate to,” he quips.
