Vijay Sethupathi donates building to farmers

We have earlier reported about Vijay Sethupathi-Shruti Haasan film Laabam which against a farmers’ backdrop and directed by national award winner Jananathan. The shooting has been going on at a brisk pace in Rajapalayam, Tenkasi and Ramanathapuram etc.

For canning certain portions, the director needed a building which will be shown as a ‘Farmers Association’. Instead of putting up a set, VSP suggested to construct a building at his cost and shoot the scenes there. Later, he donated the building to the farmers of Peruvayal village, where Laabam was shot.

Said to be a film which talks about politics associated with farmers and why they commit suicide, Vijay Sethupathi is said to play a farmer with a social activist dimension to it. Shruti also has a strong role to play, adds a source. Kalaiyarasan, Prithvi and Danny play important roles. Imman composes the music and Ramji handles the camera.
