Shraddha Srinath is on a roll!
After being roped in by Mani Ratnam, Shraddha plays Maddy's wife in her next.
Shraddha Srinath, who shot to fame with the award-winning Kannada film U Turn, is determined to make it big in Kollywood. She already has three films in her kitty — Mani Ratnam’s Kaatru Veliyidai, Gautham Karthik’s Ivan Thanthiran and Nivin Pauly’s untitled project. Now, she has been signed on to play Madhavan’s wife in Pushkar-Gayathri’s Vikram Vedha.
In an exclusive chat, Shraddha says, “Pushkar and Gayathri saw the trailer of U Turn and initiated the talks in February, but I gave my screen test only in October. Vikram Vedha’s script is high on adrenaline, and I play a woman in her mid-20s. Also, I firmly believe in the director duo’s sensibilities.”
She further reveals that she is looking forward to act alongside Vijay Sethupathi. “I loved his performance in Soodhu Kavvum and there’s no way am I going to the sets unprepared. Even though he doesn’t have a pair in the flick, I have combination scenes and I can’t wait to shoot for it. While I join the sets in December, my portions with Madhavan will be shot only in March.”
Shraddha plays a crime reporter in Gautham Ramachandran–Nivin Pauly’s untitled film, a brigadier’s daughter in Kaatru Veliyidai, and a college girl in Ivan Thanthiran. “Kaatru… is close to my heart as I am a brigadier’s daughter in real life too. I wanted to give my best in the film and it was a dream-come-true moment when Mani sir appreciated my performance during the Leh schedule.”
The svelte actress is proud of the projects that are coming her way. “With Nivin’s project, I hope to widen my market in Malayalam as well. However, Ivan… is a commercial film and this genre is not my forte. But, I wanted to push myself to try different roles,” she says and signs off.
