Arvind Swami is on a fitness regime
Ganesh tells DC, “Playing a cop in an intense action movie is a dream of every big actor in Tamil cinema''.
Actor-turned-producer Ganesh who gave us classic films like Pannayaarum Padminiyum, went into hibernation since the film didn’t do well at the BO despite garnering critical acclaim. He is now back with a bang! He has signed Arvind Swami, the toast of K’town now for a cop film Vanangamudi which is directed by Selvah, who earlier did Pudhayal with Swami in his first innings.
Ganesh tells DC, “Playing a cop in an intense action movie is a dream of every big actor in Tamil cinema. Only a few succeed to create a huge impact with their films like Suriya with the Singam franchisee and Vikram with Saamy, which serve as benchmark flicks when it comes to police stories. Selvah and I decided to go for one such commercial cop flick and I said the same when I met Swami sir as well. Since he shares a good rapport with Selvah sir, we roped him in even before Bogan’s release.”
Talking about the film, he says, “Arvind Swami portrays a straight forward cop and has three different shades to his character. He is on a weight reduction regime for his role of Anbazhagan. Ritika Singh plays his love interest.”
While Nandita Swetha is a woman cop, Chandini Tamilarasan acts as a journalist in the movie. Thambi Ramaiah will be seen in a crucial role. The movie which went on floors may undergo a title change soon, which is kept under wraps. D Imman scores the music.
