MGR - J Jayalalithaa's Adimai Penn digitalised
The film which released 48 years ago, was produced by Emgeeyar (MGR) Pictures.
It’s the season of digitalisation of old MGR and Sivaji Ganesan classics in K’town. With the Tamil film industry celebrating MGR’s centenary year, yet another yesteryear blockbuster hit of MGR-J Jayalalithaa’s Adimai Penn is getting a digital makeover.
The film which released 48 years ago, was produced by Emgeeyar (MGR) Pictures. The film had both MGR and JJ in dual roles and also marked Jaya’s debut song, ‘Amma Endral Anbu’. Earlier, the movie had been re-released four times, and everytime it generated relatively more revenue than the new films which released alongside.
Speaking to DC, the spokesperson from Rishi’s Movies which releases the digital version of Adimai Penn says, “The film was one of biggest hits of legendary MGR and was much talked about for its making. Directed by K Shankar, MGR played both father and son in the movie. KV Mahadevan’s music was also a huge plus for the movie. Now, with the centenary celebration of the iconic actor, we feel honoured to release the digital version of Adimai Penn. We want to have a series of promos like trailer launch, unveiling of the audio, etc.”
