Karthikeyan Jagadeesh finally got the title Maggy after the issue went for TPFC arbitration. Earlier, Sanam Shetty had announced her film Maggy with Bigg Boss 3 fame Tharshan as the male lead. Although the English spellings differ, the Tamil versions of the titles are the same. After a few rounds of talks with Producers Council Karthikeyan, who also bankrolls Maggy, has got the title.

A horror genre, Maggy has two models making their foray in tinsel town - Nimmy and Riya. Nimmy talks to DC, “I play one of the lead heroines and I got this offer through my dubsmash video which I had uploaded on my FB page. They wanted me to join the shoot immediately. I was sceptical, as how would they decide seeing a dubsmash where we actually imitate someone’s voice. So, the first question I asked Karthikyan was if he would finish and release the movie. Later, I repented for my immature behaviour as the unit was very professional and completed the shoot before time. The film is releasing this Friday (Nov. 22).

On the other hand, it was being a Tamilian that fetched her the titular role of Maggy aka Maragadhavalli, quips model turned actress Riya. “Karthikeyan was looking out for a Tamil girl who would portray the central character. When I learnt that I had to portray a ghost, I was a bit taken aback. However, the director promised that I wouldn’t have a ghost makeup and will appear normally, but the scenes involving me have been composed to frighten the audiences. We shot mostly in Kodaikkanal. The entire experience was like a picnic for me.”
