I am fit always, so a cop role suited me: Akshara Gowda
says Akshara Gowda, who plays a police officer in Bogan.
Akshara Gowda is a busy woman these days. Coming after a brief hiatus from Kollywood after the Ajith Kumar-starrer Arrambam, she has three interesting projects in the pipeline — Bogan, Mayavan and Sangili Bungili Kadhava Thora.
“Expectations are huge for my new films, especially after my performance in Arrambam. I’m really happy that I have significant roles in all the three films,” says Akshara excitedly. She stars as a cop in Bogan and feels she’s lucky to have had a chance to share the screen with Jayam Ravi and Arvind Swami — “It was a great learning experience. While Arvind sir gave me valuable inputs, Ravi made me feel comfortable on the sets. Apart from this, playing a police officer was challenging — but as I keep myself fit, I suit the role.”
Speaking about her other projects, she says, “Though I only appear in a few scenes in Mayavan, my character is significant to the story. Both director C.V.Kumar and story writer Nalan Kumarasamy have done a fantastic job,” she adds, “And, I play a cameo role in Atharvaa’s Sangili… My character is an NRI and it was fun acting in the film.”
On a concluding note, she says that she is very ambitious and wants to be recognised both as a performer and entertainer. “It’s my dream to be both a star and an actor. I will be working hard to reach that position!” she says and bids adieu.
