Vijay Antony Lost His Father to Suicide When He Was 7

Vijay Antony's daughter Meera's suicide has left the actor's family devastated. For the unversed, Meera was found hanging at their residence in Chennai's Alwarpet in the early hours of Tuesday. The family couldn't save her life as she had breathed her last before they reached the hospital with her unscious body.

Meera was a student of Class 12 at a private school in Chennai. Police did not find any suicide note at her residence. The post-mortem report is yet to be out.

Condolences have been pouring in from all quarters for the family of the deceased. Kollywood celebrities rushed to Vijay Antony's residence to offer their condolences.

Meanwhile, an old tweet posted by Vijay Antony's wife in March to celebrate her daughter's achievement has gone viral.

The tweet reads: "The Force behind my strength,the consolations to my tears,the reason for my stress(Naughtiness super loaded)my Thangakatti-chellakutty. Meera Vijay Antony ,Congrats Baby (sic)."

Preliminary reports stated that Meera ended her life due to stress. It remains to be seen if other details will emerge in the days ahead.

Meanwhile, an old video in which Vijay Antony talks about pain of his life and why suicide should never be an option was shared on Twitter. Apparently, the actor also lost his father to suicide when was barely 7 years old.
