Producer SR Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures has  brought in Suriya and maverick filmmaker Selvaraghavan together for a bilingual film in Tamil and Telugu. This surprise news has raised many eyebrows in K’Town. One can call it a comeback film for Selva, who has been missing in action for a while now, although his horror comedy Nenjam Marappadhillai with SJ Suryah, will hit the marquee soon.

Selva is known for his out-of-the-box themes, so it is natural that that this new combination with Suriya has caused waves. DC got in touch with Prabhu, who is currently basking in the success of his recent film Kaashmora. “Talks were on sometime back and Suriya and Selva met about two months ago. The latter narrated lines from his script and Suriya was impressed.”

The interesting part is that Selva had sent the bound script to the Singam star.

Delving deeper into the kind of film we can expect from the duo — given the fact that Selva is known for quirky genres— Prabhu explains, “Selvaraghavan handles drama, emotions and romance effortlessly like in the case of Aadavari Matalaku Ardhalu Verule, which was remade as Yaaradi Nee Mohini in Tamil. Our untitled project is a commercial outing, which will go well with the  family audiences. In that way, everything depends on whom you are collaborating with.  Selva has incorporated elements that are required for a mass hero subject.”

When we prod on about the title, he admitted tha they were considering several ones and soon, other details including the choice of the heroine, would be made official. Meanwhile, a little birdie informs us that Selva’s favourite Yuvan Shankar Raja, will probably be composing the music.
