Tejraj on a roll
The actor who played the role of rowdy in the recently released controversial film 90 ML says that it has given him the due recognition.
Tejraj, son of veteran actor Charanraj who acted in 400 movies in all south languages, Hindi and Bengali, is a happy man these days. Tej, a Viscom student who trained in all aspects of films including taking an acting course at Balu Mahendra’s acting school Cinema Pattarai, stunts from Pandian master and dance from masters Raghuram and Sridhar has finally reached his destination — cinema. The actor who played the role of rowdy in the recently released controversial film 90 ML says that it has given him the due recognition.
“People recognise me wherever I go after 90 ML and are asking for my autograph. It gives me a contented feeling and I am excited about it,” Tejraj says. The young actor reveals that he was initially apprehensive about the intimate scenes with his pair Bommu Lakshmi in the film. “Yes, even as my director Alagiya Asura madam narrated the script, she told me that she was looking for an ‘A’ movie which involves many lip locks and intimate scenes. I was a bit hesitant and told dad about it. He said, “it is cinema, go ahead and do it.” That gave a bit of confidence to do the character.”
Ask him if he wants to establish himself as a villain or hero and he says, “It is not important whether I do a hero or villain role. As long as the character is meaty and earns a name for me, I am happy to accept it. I want to long last like my dad in films.” Talks are on about a few films, which he will announce soon, he adds.
