Sei, which also has the suggestive connotation of murdering someone in colloquial Tamil, is the title of a new film, in which Nakul plays the protagonist and Bollywood actress Aanchal who has done films like We Are Family and the recent Ghayal Returns, has been roped in as the female lead.

The movie has a filmi backdrop — and Nakul essays an actor aspiring to become a hero, while Aanchal is an upcoming filmmaker. What happens when these two strong-headed individuals meet forms the crux of the movie.

Director Gopalan Manoj, a known name in short film circuit in Malayalam, with a hit movie Saaradhi in M’town under his belt, debuts in Tamil. “I am choosy about my scripts. When Manoj narrated the script of Sei, it was fascinating and I am glad that I am part of this movie,” Nakul says.

A source clarifies that the title Sei is not used in a bad context, as commonly misconstrued; rather it simply implies the meaning ‘do it’. Prakash Raj and Nasser also essay crucial characters.
