Ashna Zaveri moves on to horror now
Ashna is also playing the lead role in Bramma.com, a fantasy, where Nakul plays her pair.
The pretty Ashna Zaveri is busy juggling projects in K’town currently. Talking to DC about her upcoming films, Ashna says, “Nagesh Thirayarangam is a horror thriller. I play the role of a book seller who finds it hard to make ends meet, while Aari plays a real estate broker. The horror track plays parallelly and when it crosses their lives, everything goes for a toss and that forms the rest of the story.”
Ashna is also playing the lead role in Bramma.com, a fantasy, where Nakul plays her pair. “I can’t let out the plot, but I play a model in the film and there is a fantasy element in the script, which is as quirky as the title itself.”
The Inimey Ippadithan actress says that after acting in a series of comedies, she was very excited to act in the horror genre. “It’s exciting to do something different, right? When it comes to horror or fantasy, it is important to portray it in the right way so that the audience buys it too.”
Ashna, who has been doing Tamil films for the last three years, says, “Over the last three years, I have understood the importance of scripts. You cannot just sign a film just because it’s a big budget film or because the actor is a big star.
The script and the weightage to the character is what makes the difference. Every movie has taught me something more about cinema, and I now have a better understanding of the art. Also, I have been improving on Tamil, and now it has become like my second language.” Ashna has a project produced by CV Kumar in the pipeline and is in discussions for Kannada and Telugu films as well.
