After directing Miruthan, Tamil cinema’s first zombie film, Director Shakti Soundar Rajan is in process of making a name for himself by attempting different genres. His ongoing Tik Tik Tik, starring Jayam Ravi is Kollywood’s first space film, where Ravi essays the role of Vasu, who works for the Defence Space Division.

Speaking to DC, Shakti says, “I conceived the idea of Tik Tik Tik, when I was shooting for Miruthan. I approached Jayam Ravi after our film released, and he was kicked about it and instantly agreed to be part of it. Even my producer, Hitesh Jhabak, was willing to invest. For the film, we spoke to an ex-employee of ISRO over the phone and got details about space missions which made the scripting part easy.”

The film, which has the Singaporean actor Aaron Aziz as the antagonist, will be wrapped up next week. “Tik Tik Tik will be a different experience in terms of visuals and sound. Our stunt choreographer Micheal, imported new rigs that will ensure smooth movements without any jerks. Usually, when we use rigs, people would easily find out. The new rigs made things easy for us. It did take a toll on the actors who took their time to get used to it. That is the reason why we chose physically strong artists.” he reveals.

Staying true to the genre of the film, Shakti says that there are no romance, duet or dance sequences. “Comedy elements will be there, but it will progress along with the story. We have attempted subtle comedy and I hope it works out,” he rues. Shakti also disclosed that the teaser of Tik Tik Tik will be out this month.
