Director Seenu Ramasamy’s next film, Mamanidhan, starring Vijay Sethupathi in the lead, was announced in April this year.  What made it more exciting was that ace music composer Yuvan Shankar was producing the film, marking the third collaboration of this director-actor-composer trio after Idam Porul Eval and Dharmadurai. Although not much has been spoken about the film since its announcement, a source now tells us that the film is ready to go on floors in October.

The film is said to be inspired by the real life story of a popular personality from south Tamil Nadu. Other than Viay Sethupathi, none of the cast details have been announced until now. When contacted, director Seenu Ramasamy remained quite tight-lipped about the film — “Yes,  Mamanidhan’s work is underway, but I cannot share the details of the film, until my producer Yuvan breaks it. That is why I have not shared much about it on my Twitter page either. Once Yuvan gives out an official announcement, everyone will get to know the details.”

Sethupathi, known for his versatility, and his ability to multi-task and juggle between films, has quite a handful in his kitty now — Karuppan, Aneedhi Kadhaigal, and Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren  are in various stages of production. It should be noted that Seenu Ramasamy gave Sethupathi a new lease of life with the national award-winning film, Thenmerku Paruvakaatru.
