Is Kangana reprising Amala’s role?

Rumors are rife that Kangana Ranaut will be reprising Amala Paul’s role in the Hindi remake of Aadai, a film where the latter played a daring role, going nude for the film and creating ripples in K’town. A critically acclaimed film directed by Ratna Kumar, Amala Paul’s portrayal of a free spirited bold girl and her performance was well received.
When DC contacted Ratna Kumar, he did not rule it out as a baseless report, but he clarified. “Actor and producer Arun Pandian who helped in production of Aadai has sold the Hindi remake rights of the film to producer Mukesh Bhatt. And, what I heard was they are gearing up with preproduction work and getting the script ready in Hindi. And, as per our contract, the offer to direct the movie in Bollywood should be given to me first. But, I have no idea if they are making any move to hold talks with Kangana.”
He quickly added, “When I initially wanted to make Aadai a pan Indian movie, I had suggested Kangana Ranaut’s name. Probably, that would have also triggered the reports.”
