Karthik Subbaraj releases Indie film Alli

As the first step in his efforts to encourage Indie filmmakers, ace Karthik Subbaraj’s new initiative Stone Bench Indie has announced its first film Alli, the Tamil version of the Sanal Kumar Sasidharan directorial, Chola in Malayalam, featuring National Award winner Joju George and Nimisha Sajayan in the lead.

Speaking to DC, Karthik said he wanted to bring such acclaimed movies to theatres to reach wider audiences. “It’s a beautifully-made, heart-wrenching thriller reflecting our society. These are movies that have already made their presence felt in various national and international film festivals. This, we hope, will give huge encouragement to independent filmmakers.”
