PERAMBALUR: Fans of superstar Rajinikanth in Perambalur district were on Friday totally disappointed following the non-screening of his new Movie “Kabali” in three theatres here, due to the warning of the district administration against the theatre owners allegedly collecting higher rates for tickets than fixed by the government.

Official sources said, the theatre owners issued coupons instead of tickets after collecting higher fares for the movie, despite the warning by the district administration.

Till late last night, talks were on between the district collector and the theatre owners, but no solution was arrived, as the collector was firm not to increase the fare while the theatre owners stuck to their stand saying they had booked the film at an ‘exorbitant price’.

As the talks failed, the films were not screened in Perambalur today. The actor’s disappointed fans then went to adjoining places like Tiruchy, Thuraiyur, Ariyalur, Salem and other places to witness the movie on the first day on Friday, sources added.
